Life is good. :) I am filling up my weekend googling sorbet recipes. Yummy.
And, Stars are coming to Australia and I want to go see them. (But tickets are only $35 so I bet they're sold out. Hopefully not though.)

... because I'm tired of reading sonnets and metaphors that are both overused and meaningless, and I wish there was more poetry out there that actually, you know, made sense, so that you didn't have to actually sit down at nitpick every line to get something out of it.

But yeah, this ramble was inspired by the poetry challenge at TDA because almost all the poets featured there are... old. You know, eighteenth-century fi-ine, 19th-20th century stuff, same difference :P I wish people read more new poetry, 21st century poetry. Hell of a lot easier to, well, understand.

I wonder if years from now high school students will pour over poems like the one above and go, "Yaaaaaar, whiskey, cornflakes... why can't they just call it -insertsomething-? I mean, I know they're flakes of corn but like... and 4am is so politically incorrect! (somehow)"
Now that's a thought.

Ohbijou is a Canadian indie-pop band that I recently fell in love with after hearing their song 'St. Francis'. I swear, give it a few listens, it could make nearly anyone happy. The tune's catchy and it's such a prettyful song. Their sound actually reminds me a little of Frou Frou, although they're not electronic (that's right, real violins and real French Horns, wheeeeee).
And besides, who wouldn't fall in love with a band named 'Ohbijou'? Such a cute name.

Some fanart is just amazing. Seriously, look at it. It's stunning. If I had half that talent I'd be running around squeeing myself.  It paints the scene from the book so vividly. Just how I pictured it. Perfect. And the purple/orange hues...

I dunno. It's really... different... to Coldplay's other stuff. Like, Chris Martin's vocals are really different (not as much falsetto). And the instrumental arrangement is really... U2ish. It's... well, different. (Okay. I'm repeating myself.)
I think you have to listen to it to get what I mean.

If there's an acoustic version I'll probably love it. I'm just not too fond of the arrangement. And I do miss the piano featured in songs like it was in 'Parachutes' and 'A Rush of Blood to the Head'. And unless the new album will go back in that direction I'm not I'll like it all that much. 'Rush of Blood...' is currently my fav. album to date.
But I do love the name of the new album (which is being released in June) - Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends. Yeah, ridiculously long, I know. But I like it. Viva la Vida roughly means the life lives. 

I just hope the album isn't a reflection of 'Violet Hill'. I'm hoping for some Coldplay-ish stuff, not U2-ish stuff.

Oh, and while I'm at this music thing: Howie Day! Dunno if he's releasing another album, but he's recorded a few new songs.
One of 'em, Be There (right click, save target as) is on repeat at the moment. Gorgeous song. It's a bit like 'Collide', but hey, I love that song so no problems there. ^___________^ Although 'Standing in the Sun' is still my favourite of his. And, I can't believe he dated Britney Spears! (And LOL, of all places to meet, rehab. I found that hilarious for some reason) [/random]
